Affiliate and referral program

Canopy Marketplace provides referral tracking and reporting for forest affiliate programs. Canopy does not pay referral fees—forests pay affiliates directly under their own agreements.

How referral tracking works

  • Affiliate share links may include URL parameters such as ref, forest, src, and campaign to identify the affiliate and channel.
  • We set a first-party, HttpOnly cookie named canopy_ref when you arrive via an affiliate link. It stores a referral session ID for the forest's configured attribution window (typically up to 365 days) so visits and purchases can be credited to the correct affiliate in forest reports.
  • If you create an account or complete a purchase after clicking an affiliate link, that activity may be attributed to the affiliate for reporting to the forest.

Information shared in the affiliate program

When you submit an affiliate landing page form, are added as a lead by an affiliate, or are attributed through referral tracking, we may share your name, email, and related sale totals with the relevant forest and approved affiliates for program reporting. We retain this information for the attribution window and as needed for business records.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to or deletion of personal information we hold about you, including affiliate lead and attribution data, by contacting support@canopy.market. We will respond according to applicable law. State-specific privacy notices may be provided separately as required.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and provide personalized content. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.

For our affiliate program, we use the first-party canopy_ref cookie (HttpOnly) to maintain referral sessions as described in the Affiliate and referral program section above. Expired referral sessions are not used for new attributions.
